A superX inspiration search screen and a Tweet Hunter search screen, two alternatives to Postiz

The best Postiz alternative depends on where you publish. superX and Tweet Hunter are built for X alone, while Buffer and Typefully both have a free plan. Prices were checked between September 29 and October 3, 2026, and each one is dated below.

Why look for a Postiz alternative?

Postiz is the most complete multi-network scheduler in my Postiz review (8.4/10): 30+ networks in one calendar, unlimited posts on every plan, AI agents, and a free open-source version. I went through its signup, documentation and code. People look elsewhere for four reasons:

  • X is their only network, and a tool built around X goes deeper on X.
  • The hosted plan has no free tier, only a 7-day trial for $0 with a card.
  • The $29 Standard plan covers 5 channels.
  • On the hosted version, links are removed from X posts before publishing.

If none of these applies to you, Postiz is still a strong pick.

What should you check before leaving Postiz?

A scheduler is a daily tool, so a few points matter more than the feature list:

  • Which networks you actually post on, today and in six months.
  • How many channels or X accounts the entry plan includes.
  • Whether the trial needs a card and how long it lasts.
  • Whether the tool reads your own numbers or only schedules.
  • Whether you need API or MCP access for an AI agent.

Which tools are the best Postiz alternatives?

The four alternatives below are superX, Tweet Hunter, Buffer and Typefully.

superX

superX is built for X, with an AI assistant that reads your real X numbers, a scheduler, workers that write drafts in your voice, and a library of viral posts. I tested it on my test account on October 3, 2026 and scored it 8.8/10. It has three plans, prices read on October 3, 2026:

  • Pro, $49/month: 5 X accounts, 500 posts a month, 750 AI credits, 1 Signals agent, 1,000 auto-DMs, and API, CLI and MCP access.
  • Advanced, $49/month at launch price (normally $99): adds the AI post and thread writer and the 10M+ viral posts library.
  • Ultra, $99/month at launch price (normally $199): 10 X accounts and 3,000 posts a month.

The trial lasted 3 days in my test, with a card required. Best for: someone whose main network is X and who wants advice based on their own numbers. Read my superX review.

Tweet Hunter

Tweet Hunter is also built for X: a large library of viral tweets searchable by topic, a composer with auto-retweet, auto-plug and auto-DM, a queue planner and evergreen reposts. I connected it to my test account on October 3, 2026 and scored it 8.3/10.

It has three plans, each with a 7-day free trial (prices read October 2 and 3, 2026):

  • Discover, $29/month: 1 X account, scheduling, evergreen, 3,000 auto-DMs and X analytics.
  • Grow, $49/month: 5 accounts, the AI writer and the CRM.
  • Enterprise, $200/month: unlimited accounts.

Best for: someone who posts on X every day and wants never to run out of ideas. Read my Tweet Hunter review.

Buffer

Buffer's free plan covers up to 3 channels, including X, with 10 scheduled posts per channel Essentials is $5/month for 1 channel, billed yearly, plus $5/month for each extra channel, with unlimited scheduled posts and advanced analytics (both checked September 29, 2026).

Best for: someone with a few channels who wants X as one network among others and a free start.

Typefully has a free plan and two paid plans (checked September 29, 2026):

Which Postiz alternative should you pick?

Start from your network list:

  • X is your main network and you want an AI assistant: superX.
  • X is your main network and you want a library of viral tweets: Tweet Hunter.
  • You post on a few networks and want a free start: Buffer or Typefully.
  • You post on many networks, want API access or an open-source tool: stay with Postiz.

For the full ranking, see the best X growth tools. To compare the two X-only tools, read superX vs Tweet Hunter. For the same question from another angle, see Hypefury alternatives for X, superX alternatives and Tweet Hunter alternatives.

Does a scheduler change a restriction on X?

No. A scheduling tool publishes and analyzes your posts. It does not change whether X limits the visibility of an account. A search suggestion ban, a search ban, a ghost ban and reply deboosting are all applied by X, whatever tool you use to post.

If your reach drops after you switch tools, see why views drop on X first, and the shadowban glossary for the terms.

How do you measure your reach on the tool you pick?

Run the free Twitter (X) shadowban test on your handle before you switch and again a few weeks later. It runs 4 checks (search suggestion ban, search ban, ghost ban, reply deboosting) in a few seconds, with no login. That way, a change in reach is measured, not guessed.

Frequently asked questions

superX and Tweet Hunter are the closest picks if X is your only network. Both are built around X alone: superX (8.8/10 in my test) adds an AI assistant that works from your own numbers, and Tweet Hunter (8.3/10) adds a large library of viral tweets. Plans start at $29 to $49 a month (prices checked October 3, 2026).

Yes. Buffer's free plan covers up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel, and Typefully's free plan covers 1 social set with 10 posts a month (checked September 29, 2026). Postiz itself is also free if you self-host it, under the AGPL-3.0 open-source license.

Postiz has no free hosted plan, but its self-hosted version is free: it is open source (AGPL-3.0) and you run it on your own server with Docker. The hosted version starts with a 7-day trial for $0 and a card, then costs from $29 a month (postiz.com, October 3, 2026).

Buffer is cheaper for 4 channels or fewer: free for 3 channels, then $5 per channel a month, billed yearly. Postiz is cheaper from 5 channels on yearly billing. Standard covers 5 for $23 a month, against $25 on Buffer Essentials. Team covers 10 for $31, against $50. Buffer prices were checked September 29, 2026 and Postiz prices on October 3, 2026.

superX includes API, CLI and MCP access on its Pro plan, from $49 a month. Postiz includes an MCP server, a CLI and an API on every plan, from $29 a month. Both let an AI agent such as Claude or ChatGPT draft and schedule posts for you.

Postiz is worth it if you publish on several networks: it scored 8.4/10 in my review, with 30+ networks, unlimited posts and an open-source version. Switch if X is your only network and you want a tool built around X, or if you want a free hosted plan from Buffer or Typefully.

No. A scheduler publishes and analyzes posts, but only X controls the visibility of an account. If your reach drops after you switch tools, run a free Shadowban Radar test to see whether any of the 4 restrictions X can apply is active.
