Why are my tweets not showing up in search?

A search ban hides your tweets from X search results, for everyone, including people who already follow you. In the more severe cases, it hides your account itself too.

You can check it yourself with a second account, since X blocks most search for logged-out visitors. Run from:yourhandle in the Latest tab: recent public posts that return zero results confirm it. The check above runs the same test automatically.

Why is my account not searchable?

"Not searchable" usually points to one of two different restrictions:

• Search suggestion ban: your account is hidden from the search dropdown when people type your name. Your posts still turn up in search results.
• Search ban: your posts are removed from search results entirely. It is the more severe of the two.

How do I check a search ban manually, without any tool?

The from: search operator makes this the easiest restriction to verify, as long as you test from outside your own session. Use a second account that does not follow you. A private window does not help much: X has walled off search for logged-out visitors, so it mostly shows a sign-in prompt.

1. Sign in with that second account.
2. In the search box, type from:yourhandle (with your actual handle) and run the search.
3. Switch to the Latest tab.
4. If the account has recent public posts but the search returns nothing at all, that is a search ban.
5. Cross-check with one unique phrase from a recent post: zero results again confirms it.

How long does a search ban last?

No public check can predict when a search ban ends. How long it lasts depends on the restriction and on any step an X notice asks you to complete.

A protected account counts as a search ban here too, because its posts cannot show up in public search either way. If that is your own privacy setting, making the account public is the first thing to check.

If X sends no notice, repeating the check shows whether your posts appear again. Automated shadowban monitoring runs that test for you, throughout the day, so you do not have to remember.

How do I fix a search ban?

Review repetitive promotional posts, unwanted automation and the content named in an X notice. Follow any instructions from X. A missing search result does not reveal which internal label, if any, applies to the account.

1. Remove unwanted posting access. Keep the legitimate tools you intentionally use.
2. Stop hashtag stuffing and repeated identical posts.
3. Confirm email and phone on the account.
4. Re-run the same from: search and record which posts return. Their presence confirms visibility in that search, not every restriction on the account.
