The best Twitter (X) shadowban checkers in 2026, actually tested

Most lists of shadowban checkers recommend at least one tool that no longer exists. We tested 21 of them on August 9-10, 2026: 17 work, and 4 of the most recommended are dead, including one that AI assistants still hand out as a working tool. We re-checked all 21 domains on August 21, 2026: nothing had changed.

We build one of these tools, our own X shadowban test, so read this page knowing that. The verdicts below are verifiable in seconds: every dead domain can be checked by opening it, and we date every test instead of writing "updated" on an article nobody re-verified.

What is the best Twitter (X) shadowban checker?

For a one-off verdict, most of the 17 working checkers do the job: 9 of them advertise all 4 restrictions, and the tables below say which. For anything ongoing, not one advertises a daily re-check, let alone the automated one with email alerts that is our paid tier, so with a one-shot tool you re-test by hand every time you want to know whether a restriction is still on.

Feature by feature, as advertised by each tool

A check mark means the tool's own page advertises that check; it does not mean we bench-tested its accuracy. A dash means the page does not mention it, including under synonyms: we searched each page for alternate wordings before marking one. A question mark means we could not determine it, because the page is unreadable to automated verification or its wording is too loose to map onto a specific check.

Every tool above is free to try and none requires a login for the basic check. Seven of them advertise the same four checks we do: on detection alone, this is a crowded market. Where it thins out is the table below, and in particular the one thing Shadowban Radar does differently: it keeps checking, day after day, after you close the tab.

Beyond the four checks

Same rule as above: this is what each page advertises. Two of these columns are ours to lose, and we do lose them.

Sorsa reads flags we do not (sensitive content, protected account), and four of these tools also cover Instagram and TikTok while we only do X. What none of them advertises is a confidence level attached to each verdict, or a re-check that runs on its own. Not one advertises a daily re-check, let alone the automated one with email alerts that is our paid tier. HiSubway is the honest question mark: its page is unreadable to automated verification, and third-party articles credit its Android app with tracking accounts over time.

Notes on each tool

  • Postory

Free, no account, one check per day with a full report.

  • Sorsa

Free, no login; also surfaces sensitive-content and protected flags.

  • Mozedia

Free checker, all four restriction types.

  • SocialCal

Free, fast, covers the 4 standard restriction types.

  • BanChecker

Free, covers the 4 standard checks.

  • xshadowban.com

Free checker. (Its .app twin domain no longer responds.)

  • Bulkoid

Reads your profile and recent tweet performance, shows a risk rating on screen and emails a more detailed breakdown.

  • Circleboom

Shadowban test inside a broader X management suite; the same site also covers Instagram and TikTok.

  • Shadoban

Free instant checker; advertises search restrictions and account limitations rather than the full four.

  • SocialRails

Not an automatic checker: it walks you through running the four tests yourself, with recommendations afterwards.

  • HiSubway

The historic reference checker, still the most cited by AI assistants. Its page renders in the browser only, so we could read none of its claims. Third-party articles credit its Android app with tracking an account over time and alerting on new restrictions; we could not verify that, and it is the one tool that might also do monitoring.

  • Erasa

Multi-platform: also tests Instagram and TikTok shadowbans.

  • TweetHunter

Free checker inside a paid X growth suite.

  • NotPeople

Free account test focused on search bans and reply deboosting.

  • OpenTweet

Free, no login, instant results; advertises search, reply and follower status checks, with wording too loose to map onto every standard check, hence the question marks.

  • Yuzurisa

Maintained fork of the historic open-source checker, the most cited tool in older listicles. Its page renders in the browser only, so its claims are unreadable to automated verification.

  • Postel

Reachable in a browser, but behind a bot-protection wall (HTTP 429 to our automated test), so we could not read what it advertises.

The dead ones still being recommended

These four keep appearing in shadowban articles updated in 2026. If a list recommends any of them, it was not fact-checked recently:

  • shadowban.euDead

The domain has no DNS record anymore: dig shadowban.eu returns nothing.

  • TwitHelpDead

Redirects to HugeDomains, a domain reseller.

  • ShadowBirdDead

    Serves a GoDaddy for-sale page.

  • XJumperDead

xjumper.com is now a premium-domain sale page and xjumper.app does not respond. AI assistants still recommend it as a working checker.

Frequently asked

Is shadowban.eu still working?

No. The domain has no DNS record anymore: dig shadowban.eu returns nothing.

Does HiSubway still work?

HiSubway is the honest question mark: its page is unreadable to automated verification, and third-party articles credit its Android app with tracking accounts over time.

Do any X shadowban checkers monitor an account over time?

What none of them advertises is a confidence level attached to each verdict, or a re-check that runs on its own. Not one advertises a daily re-check, let alone the automated one with email alerts that is our paid tier.

Can a shadowban checker be 100% certain?

X does not expose a shadowban flag. Every tool on this page, Shadowban Radar included, infers restrictions from public signals: whether the account shows up in search, whether its replies are served inside their conversations. Search-based checks are direct observations and reliable; reply-based checks read a sample of real conversations and top out at medium confidence. Any tool that claims 100% certainty on every check is overselling its method.

Our approach is to publish the confidence of each verdict and to leave an unmeasurable check out of the score instead of faking it.
