X shadowban audit: the cause, named, and the plan to fix it

What is a Twitter (X) shadowban audit?

A Twitter (X) shadowban audit is a one-time deep read of a public account that names the most likely cause of its reduced reach, shows the evidence behind that cause, and gives an ordered plan to work through.

The free check answers whether an account is restricted. The audit answers why, and what to do about it. It is bought once, it is written once, and it does not change afterwards.

What does the audit read on your account?

It runs the 4 visibility checks, then probes your replies in up to 5 separate conversations instead of one, so the report can say in how many of them your reply was served. It reads your last 100 posts and replies, your 100 most recent followers with their own public profiles, the accounts you follow, and it resolves every link in your bio, your pinned post and your posts to the page it actually lands on.

It also rebuilds a timeline: when your posts were published, when your follower count jumped, when your views broke, and whether posts are missing from what X serves. Every number in the report comes from one of those reads.

What does the audit conclude?

One cause, named, in first position, with the evidence it rests on quoted from your own account. Causes are ranked by how strong their evidence is: an explicit signal from X comes first, then a measured behaviour, then what your hidden replies show, then your audience and your account's own shape.

Each cause is followed by what X's published recommendation code does with that signal, in plain language. The causes we ruled out are listed too, with the numbers that ruled them out.

What is in the action plan?

An ordered list you tick off, split in two: what to do today, and what to keep doing until the restriction lifts. Each step carries the measured fact behind it, the exact path inside X to follow, and the plan closes on a short list of what to avoid.

The steps stay in your dashboard, so you can come back and tick the next one. The audit itself never changes: it is the diagnosis you paid for, dated.

How long does a restriction last after an audit?

X's published code writes 14 day and 30 day timers on some labels, and none at all on others. On the accounts we have measured, the median restriction lifted in 12 days. Both figures are in the report, next to your own dates, and the durations page explains where each one comes from.

What does the audit not do?

It does not give a guaranteed recovery date: X publishes none, so nobody can. It does not ask X anything and it has no inside view of a decision. It never tells you to delete posts as a reset, and never suggests a second account.

Where only you can see something, in your own settings, it says so and tells you where to look instead of guessing for you.

How much does a shadowban audit cost?

The check stays free. The audit comes with a pass: €2.99 for 14 days or €4.99 for 30 days, covering up to 3 X handles. One payment, no subscription, it ends by itself.

You get the audit once per account, plus monitoring for the length of the pass, which tells you when something moves. You can read a real audit in full before buying: our own account, restricted, shown with its report.

Do I have to connect my X account?

No. There is no login to X, no OAuth permission and no password to give. The audit reads what X serves publicly about the account, the same thing a logged out reader sees, which is exactly what a shadowban hides.

Is the audit available in my language?

This page and the site are available in eight languages. The audit report itself is written in English for now. The free check and automated X shadowban monitoring work the same way whatever language you read the site in.

An audit starts from a measurement: run the free check on your handle and the audit is offered on your result page.

Stop checking. Get told when it moves.

X does not notify you of every visibility change. Monitoring keeps checking the account after you close this page, so you can compare dated results and get an email when a change is confirmed. Your personal audit adds practical actions based on the information available.

  • Throughout the day: your search and reply visibility get checked again. The full four-check audit reruns at least once a day.
  • The day it lifts: an email tells you, so you stop holding back the posts you were saving.
  • Drops and first improvements too: your score before, your score after, and the check-by-check detail.
  • One email per confirmed change, never twice for the same wobble.
  • Public reads only: we never ask for your X password, and we never post from your account.
