X's Under the Hood not available? Why, and what to check instead

What does X require before it shows Under the Hood?

X's Under the Hood shows a report only when three conditions are met:

• You are logged in to X as the account's owner. X's code serves the report to the authenticated viewer, so no one can open another account's report.
• The account is at least 1 year old.
• The account has 10 or more posts in the prior month.

Below either threshold, X shows an eligibility checklist instead of the report.

Why does my Under the Hood report cover the month before last?

Under the Hood covers one calendar month at a time. Per X's published code, a month's report appears no earlier than 10 days after that month ends: from the 1st to the 9th of a month, the report still covers the month before last.

How do I check an X account less than 1 year old for a shadowban?

Run Shadowban Radar's free check: it works on any public account, whatever its age. X's Under the Hood only covers accounts at least 1 year old with at least 10 posts that month, so it shows nothing for a newer account.

Does a missing Under the Hood report mean my account is not restricted?

No. X's Under the Hood depends on the account's age and number of posts, not on its reach.

An account under 1 year old, or with fewer than 10 posts in the covered month, sees no label data at all in that report, regardless of what is actually happening to its reach.

How can I check my X visibility without Under the Hood?

Two methods work on any public account today, whatever its age:

1. Run the manual tests from a second X account that does not follow you, one per restriction: search suggestion ban, search ban, ghost ban and reply deboosting.
2. Run Shadowban Radar's free check: the same 4 checks on any public handle in seconds, with no login and no second account, and a confidence level for each check.

If Under the Hood looks clean and a checker finds a restriction, both can be right: Under the Hood covers a month that has already ended, the check covers today.

When will X's Under the Hood show my report?

Once the account is at least 1 year old and has 10 or more posts in a month, X's Under the Hood can show that month's report, about 10 days after the month ends.
